Wolverines - Orange/Villa Park

The Wolverines, formerly known as Windy River, are a group of families mostly in the Orange and Villa Park areas.

The girls in our group are between the ages of 5 and 11, with many in the 6-8 range who are always asking for the next opportunity to get together with their camping friends. Our group has monthly meetings hosted by different families where the girls can get together to play, have fun, and have fun crafts. Our dads do a great job of supporting each other, making sure no one person is responsible for too much. Many of the dads enjoy cooking and look forward to showing off their skills during the campouts. For camping, we have a mix of families in trailers and tents, so no matter what kind of setup you have there is someone who can help you out.

This program gives the girls a wide circle of friends that often become more like a large family. The girls build self-esteem, develop a strong sense of identity and of personal accomplishment. Together, you’ll see and do things that you otherwise might not have the opportunity to do, including camping, kayaking, hiking, swimming, archery, sledding, campfires, skits … and s’mores!

Our Chant

ALL:
Hiyaya Hiyaya Hiyaya High, Hiyaya Hiyaya Hiyaya High.

We are the Wolverines small but strong.
The dad’s think they run the show, but they are wrong.
With an eye for adventure and a spirit so strong, we navigate our family where we belong.
All you other circles should have no fear, because you know the Wolverines are here!
